Main Event Report

The FIA Main Event at Santa Pod over the Whitsun weekend proved a bit of a mixed bag. On the plus side, the weather at Pod was glorious in the week leading up to the Main Event with temperatures soaring on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was also a welcome relief to have FireForce 3 back from Bahrain and managed some steady runs over Friday, Saturday and Sunday all within 5.82 and 5.83 seconds. The dragster (FF5) also ran a steady 5.4@239mph on Saturday. Unfortunately on Sunday, Number 5 suffered a failure on the startline. Later investigation found it was a broken drive shaft so repair work will be underway to get this up and running.

Monday was a different story as the storm clouds rolled in. Twice we made it down to the pairing lanes only to get caught in a downpour both times resulting in an abrupt and disappointing end to our weekend.

Our next outing is at the Classic Ford Show on Sunday 4th June so let’s hope for the good weather to return.

New PB’s for FireForce 5

Our first outing of 2017 at Santa Pod proved fairly successful with new PB’s set. On Saturday 1st April, the FireForce 5 jet dragster set a new speed PB reaching 306mph over the 1/4 mile with an early shut off!

Temperature conditions were just right and we were pleased with the overall performance considering the dragster has been in storage since November last year.

Sunday 2nd April saw a couple more good passes with the first setting a new E.T PB at 5.07 seconds at 298mph.

Bahrain Update

The first ever appearance by a jet car at the Bahrain International Circuit during Round 4 of the BDRC seems to have been successful!

With one 5.8 second run on Thursday 23rd Feb followed by a 5.77 second run on Friday 25th Feb, FireForce 3 certainly showed the crowds what jet powered vehicles can really do.

Aside from a few minor issues, the car ran well and the crew now have a few days to relax (only slightly) before FireForce 3 demos at Round 5 on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd March.

If the recent Bahrain newspaper reports are anything to go by, the Bahrain Drag Racing Championship have been attracting some attention!

Bahrain poster

The first ever jet car to run in Bahrain impressed the crowds with a quarter mile 5.8 second run at 276mph last night (23rd February 2017).

FireForce 3 performed a demo pass during Round 4 of the Bahrain Drag Racing Championship much to the delight of the Bahrainian spectators.

A big thank you to Julian Webb (pilot of Split Second Jet Dragster) for helping out during Round 4.

Two more passes are scheduled for Friday 24th February as well as runs during Round 5 on 2nd & 3rd March.

The event will be livestreamed through the Bahrain International Circuit’s youtube channel so British fans don’t have to miss out.

2016 Season Finale

Flame & Thunder at Santa Pod Raceway ended FireForce’s 2016 season. With a steady couple of runs from the FireForce 5 jet dragster  (5.20 and 5.37 second runs) and FireForce 3 putting in some standard 5 second runs, it was a good end to the year.

The last run of the day was FireForce 3 triggering the start of Santa Pod’s firework display. With a massive crowd on the bank and in the grandstand, the unusually mild weather had certainly brought out the people.

A big thank you to all our fans and remember that you can follow FireForce on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube @FireForce Jets

Heading for Hockenheim

It’s that time! For the third year running, FireForce 3 is loaded ready for the long drive over to Hockenheim, Germany ready to participate in the NitrOlympX.

It’s always a highlight on our calendar and the Saturday Night Show really must be seen to be believed. The German crowds are fantastic so we look forward to entertaining them.

After our first ever 5 second 1/4 mile pass last year, we are hoping to repeat the success for a 2nd year.

We also look forward to pitting next to Split Second Jet Dragster and the team who are joining the festivities for the first time at the NitrOlypmX show.

We will post updates on our social media pages via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so you can see behind the scenes of our journey.

FireForce 3 T-shirts will also be available to buy from our Pit Bay.

FireForce 5 hits 300mph!!!!

On Sunday 3rd July 2016 at the Retro Show at Santa Pod, the FireForce 5 jet dragster reached 300.17mph over the 1/4 mile.

To our knowledge, FF5 is the only jet dragster outside the USA to break the 300mph limit.

If the car hadn’t been shut off early, who knows what speed it would have clocked up.

A massive thank you to Box Lane Productions for capturing our 300mph run!
